Tsai Ming Liang

蔡明亮（ツァイ・ミンリャン）

Born in Malaysia in 1957 and currently based in Taipei. Tsai is one of Taiwan's leading contemporary film directors. His works consist of comical, often sentimental takes on movie and film culture that question the relationship between the film (image) and its audience. For the Aichi Triennale, Tsai will present an installation that incorporates multiple video monitors.
