Takaaki Izumi

Born in Fukuoka in 1975 and currently based in Aichi. Izumi chooses themes and materials taken from his own environment and experiences, creating his works by keeping the production process to a minimum. He also seeks to question the act of expression itself that straddles the border between daily life and art. For the Aichi Triennale, Izumi plans to create an installation that consists of colored wooden planks piled on top of each other like a transport pallet.
