- Born in New Delhi and currently based in the same city. Emerging from the Indian sub continent, Kanwar's films are complex, contemporary narratives that connect intimate personal spheres of existence to larger social political processes. Linking legends and ritual pbjects to new symbols and public events. Kanwar's work finds a contextual relationship with diverse audiences as it maps a journey of exploration revealing our relationship with the politics of power, violence, sexuality and justice.
