Atsuhiko Misawa: born 1961 in Kyoto. Has made a series of life-sized animal sculptures carved from the trunks of Japanese cinnamon trees, titled "Animals". Received the 20th Hirakushi Denchu Award at the young age of 40. Hideki Toyoshima: born 1971 in Osaka. After graduating from high school, enrolled at the San Francisco Art Institute, from which he graduated in 1991. Finished the Chelsea College of Art and Design in 2001, and later founded "graf", a company specializing in the design of living environments. Also took charge of the administration of the company's own "graf media gm" gallery. Came to public attention as key figure in the "A to Z" project by graf and artist Yoshitomo Nara.
