Over the Shoulder is a choreography for steps and emotions. It's a duet by Tamar Shelef and Antonia Baehr; it's an exploration about the expression of emotions as choreographical material for composition - emotions deprived of their causes and effects; It's an arm wrestling between the reins of an abstract score and the unruly patterns of affects; it's taking pleasure in impossible tasks and playing games; it's queer abstraction.

"I like to laugh. I laugh often. I am often seen laughing."
Laugh is a piece about laughing as laughing. For the length of the piece Antonia Baehr explores this expression as a sovereign entity, in separation from causal baggage; jokes, tickles, narrative, humor, joy, looking at the thing itself: the sound and shape, the music, choreography and drama, the rhythm and the gesture of laughter. Comedy is not her goal, but contamination is an unavoidable by-product that sometimes contagiously trades sides of the 'fourth wall'.

Antonia Baehr
A. Baehr is a choreographer / director, performer and film-maker. What characterizes her is a non-disciplinary work and a method of collaboration with different people, using a game-structure with switching roles: each person is alternately director / author and performer for the other one.
She graduated in Film- and Media Arts at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin with Valie Export (1996) and obtained a DAAD-grant and a Merit Scholarship for the School of The Art Institute of Chicago. There she completed her Master in Performance with Lin Hixson of the performance group Goat Island and began collaborating with William Wheeler. Since 2000 she is based in Berlin. From 2006 until 2008 she was associated artist in residence at "Les Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers" in France. In 2008 she published her book "Rire / Laugh / Lachen". Her productions include: "Holding hands" (2000), "Un après-midi" (2003), "Larry Peacock" (2005), "Merci" (2006), "Rire" (2008) and "Over The Shoulder"(2009).
2010 sees the development on a new choreography for four interpreters.
Antonia Baehr works a.o. with Lindy Annis, Gaetan Bulourde, Valérie Castan, Antonija Livingstone, Eszter Salamon, Tamar Shelef and William Wheeler. She is the producer of the horse whisperer and dancer Werner Hirsch, the musician and choreographer Henri Fleur, and the composer Henry Wilt.

Tamar Shelef
Born in Tel-Aviv, Israel. Lives and works in Paris, France. She studied in London at the Rambert School. Worked in Israel at the Bat-Dor Dance Company, before joining the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Switzerland. In Paris since 1992, she worked with Angelin Preljocaj until 1995. Then with Joel Borges, Maïté Fossen and the artist Iris Sarah Sciller. In 2005 she met Christian Rizzo with whom she worked on "Soit le puits était profond..." The same year Tamar met Antonia Baehr for the performance "Un après-midi #12". With David Wampach she danced "Quatorze" in 2007, and "Mon amour" with Rizzo in 2008. In 2009 she collaborated with Antonia Baehr for the Vif du Sujet "Over The Shoulder". This season 2010 she participated both in Rizzo's last creation "L'Oubli, toucher du bois" and Alain Buffard's "Tout va bien".
