Filmmakers. Jean-Marie Straub was born in Metz, France in 1933, and Dani_le Huillet in Paris in 1936. Straub-Huillet are known for their aloofness and detachment, traits that are evident in their unique, rigorous film adaptations of existing works of literature. Although Huillet passed away in 2006, Straub is still active as a filmmaker in Paris and Toscana, Italy.
