Born in Kyoto in 1985 and currently based in the same city. Kurata's work focuses on familiar everyday places _ old villages, hometowns and young girls' bedrooms _ in order to weave beautiful stories out of them. Her animation works, which emerge from a vision of the world seen from a series of extremely delicate and subtle perspectives, remind us of the importance of how we go about our daily lives.
