TADA Tomomitsu
Born 1979 in Hiroshima
Based in Japan
Tada works in diverse mixed meida including oil, acrylic, pastel, colored pencil, and ballpoint pen. The artist states that his work is rooted in drawing, and it is based around lines of widely varying thickness and character, which seem to manifest fragments of all conceivable phenomena: life and death, existence, solitude, tranquility, light, color, absurdity. In recent years he has been creating large-scale pieces with singular textural qualities on multilayered yet highly transparent chalk grounds. In addition to figurative and abstract motifs, Tada frequently introduces text and other elements into the world of primordial symbolism he creates.
