Rainbow Carnival
A participatory program open to everyone that embodies the theme of Aichi Triennale 2016, "Rainbow Caravan." For the people of Aichi, for whom time spent engaging with art and performing arts was once completely natural, enjoying dance is still an important part of the local culture. The Rainbow Carnival spans two days during which various forms of bodily expression that have gained acceptance precisely because such fertile ground exists will come together, crossing genres and ignoring the distinction between professional and amateur. In addition to coming alive with such bodily expressions as flamenco, Nihon buyo (classical Japanese dance), samba, acrobatics and street dance, the venue will also host music and markets, reaching a climax with the "Carnival" finale. The urban oasis Oasis21 Galaxy Platform, an ideal gathering place for the Rainbow Carnival, will be transformed into a grand festival space worthy of a contemporary art festival where people from all over the world will assemble.
Rainbow Carnival supervors: HIDANO Shuichi (music), NAKAO Takako (flamenco), MATSUSHITA Sachie (flamenco), NISHIKAWA Kazumasa (Nihon buyo), YUKACHAN (samba), SUN(Street dance), CONiY(Street dance), KUNO Shuichi (décor)
