Chelsea Knight is a video and performance artist working in New York. Knight’s works examine fractures in society such as race, gender and politics, as well as the kinds of social role-playing these fractures bear. In Fall to Earth—re-worked for the Aichi Triennale 2016, Knight has collaborated with sound artists and composers Mathew Paul Jinks, Ryan Tracy, Nick Hallett, and Christine Sun Kim. Knight has completed residencies at the Whitney Independent Study Program (2010) and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (2008), and was a Fulbright Fellow in Italy (2007). Her work has been featured in various group shows worldwide. Solo exhibitions and performances include: the New Museum (NYC), The St. Louis Art Museum (MO); The Brooklyn Museum; Aspect Ratio Gallery (Chicago); Momenta Art (Brooklyn); DiverseWorks (Houston) and Julius Caesar Gallery (Chicago). Knight was a 2015 Research and Development Artist in Residence at the New Museum (NYC)
