Jun Aguni
粟國淳
Born in Tokyo in 1967, he went to Rome with his father Yasuhiko Aguni for his opera education in the 70's. He studied violin and conducting methods at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. He started his career in various locations in Italy after he joined as a Japanese staff for Teatro dell'Opera di Roma in 1994. He gained experience at the right hand of producers such as Piero Faggioni and Alberto Fassini, and widen his appeal to Europe and the USA. He made his debut with the ` L'elisir d'amore` at the youth theater performance 'Fujiwara opera Troupe' in 1997. Thereafter, he has produced opera for main halls and groups such as The New National Theatre in Tokyo, Aichi Arts Foundation, Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation, Biwako Hall, and The Kanagawa Prefectural Civic Hall in Japan. In 2003, he made a debut with the `Andrea Chénier` at the Teatro Verdi di Sassari in Italy. His main operas in Japan are the following; `Il Campiello` in 2001, `The Barber of Seville` in 2002, `La bohème` in 2003 and 2006, ` Il tabarro` in 2004, `Osan` in 2005, ` Un ballo in maschera` in 2007, and `Orlando` Turandot` in 2009. He received high recognition from performers on his interpretation of stories, and he has widened his career as a head of Japanese youth opera producer.
