Born in Hokkaido. Graduated and earned his Master's degree from Musashino Academia Musicae. Placed 1st at the 5th HIMES Concours; won the prize in the 32nd Concorso Vocale Italo-Giapponese, and the 4th International Competition for Opera Singers Ferruccio Tagliavini; and 4th at the 13th International Vocal Competition in Pavia. In 1998 made his Italian opera debut in Milan in the title role of "Rigoletto." Subsequently played Germont in "La Traviata" and Schaunard in "La Boheme" (appearing with Lorenzo Saccomani). On return to Japan, performed at the New National Theatre in "Masked Ball," "Don Carlo," "Werther," "Carmen," and other operas; and in "Tosca" as part of an opera appreciation course. Was a big hit as Bonzo in "Madame Butterfly" with the Fujiwara Opera in 2006 and 2007. Debuted with the Japan Opera Foundation in 2009 as Shu no Bambo in "Tenshu Monogatari," a role he reprised in February this year. Member of the Fujiwara Opera.
