SHIMIZU Ryoichi (Yamadori)

Born in Ibaraki Prefecture. Graduated and earned his Master's degree from Musashino Academia Musicae. Placed 2nd in the 66th Music Competition of Japan; 2nd in the 3rd Fujiwara Opera Competition, 1st in the 10th Sogakudo Japanese Song Competition, and awarded the Tamotsu Kinoshita Prize. Following his debut as Morales in "Carmen" in Fujiwara Opera's joint production with New National Theatre in 2002, appeared as Gregorio in "Romeo and Juliet," as Yamadori in "Madame Butterfly" in 2006, and as the second commissary in "Dialogues of the Carmelites" in 2010. With Japan Opera Foundation performed in "Beauty and the Beast," "Yuzuru" (Twilight Crane), "Tenshu Monogatari," and "Koya Hijiri," among other productions. Acclaimed in February this year for his performance as Shu no Bambo in "Tenshu Monogatari." Served as understudy for Carlo Colombara in "Tales of Hoffman" at Aichi Triennale 2010, contributing greatly to the production's success. Member of the Fujiwara Opera.
