NISHITAKE Hiroki

Born 1984 in Nagasaki Prefecture (Japan), based in Tokyo.

Graduated from Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music in 2008 and completed Master's degree at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts in 2010. While still at the latter, participated in the Estuaire Biennale, where he laid down and rolled up a stripe of latex to execute his "Road of Sex" over a distance of about 50km along the Loire Estuary from Nantes to Saint Nazaire. In 2012, he undertook a similar project, "Road of Sex Tokyo>>Aichi," along a route from Tokyo to Aichi, for the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art's APMoA Project, Arch. What he was experimenting with there might be described as a dialogue with the land, using the human body, and as the act of winding up one’s memory of place into a single entity.
