Knitting the woolen jumper for the sheep I sheared, a project realized in Ireland in 2012, was inspired by the country’s traditional wool industry, which is on the verge of extinction. The project involved shearing one particular sheep at a farm in rural Ireland, spinning wool from the fleece, and knitting the yarn into a sweater, which was then put back on the original sheep that gave the wool. The entire process was carried out employing time-honored, traditional and manual methods.
