Art Playground INTERACT

S40

Introduced for the first time at the Aichi Triennale 2019, Art Playgrounds are spaces that visitors can use to demonstrate their own creativity. They are installed at five exhibition venues, each dedicated to one of the five themes "Play," "Talk," "Create," "Interact" and "Outreach." These spaces function as platforms for visitors to respond naturally and in their own ways――through creation, self-expression, discussion or communication――to works shown at art festivals and exhibitions, and the inspiration they draw from such displays.

For "Interact," a research and development lab was installed with the aim to develop original goods for this particular area. Visitors become researchers, and in that role they can work out ideas for original products. Considering the possibility that these ideas may in fact be commercialized someday, the connection that is established here between the area and its visitors is an immortal one.
