Art Playground CREATE

Introduced for the first time at the Aichi Triennale 2019, Art Playgrounds are spaces that visitors can use to demonstrate their own creativity. They are installed at five exhibition venues, each dedicated to one of the five themes "Play," "Talk," "Create," "Interact" and "Outreach." These spaces function as platforms for visitors to respond naturally and in their own ways―through creation, self-expression, discussion or communication―to works shown at art festivals and exhibitions, and the inspiration they draw from such displays.

In "Create," visitors engage in the production of artworks by directly working with the respective materials. The basic idea was to give visitors the chance to experience first-hand the process of "creating while thinking and thinking while creating," as a fundamental aspect of creative work in general.
