MURAYAMA Goro's new performance, "Decoy-Walking"
This is a performance/installation work that is pioneering in its engagement with gait recognition systems, a new biometrics technology that is used to identify people according to the way they walk.
This work presents a new artistic attitude that, instead of relating to machines in terms of surveillance anxieties or convenience dependence, is formed through the mutually resonating intelligence of humans and machines, and the human creativity to engage with the mechanical gaze as a new playground.
This work is supported by Yagi Laboratory, Department of Intelligent Media ISIR, Osaka University and Sano Laboratory, Nagoya Institute of Technology.
